    Home Childcare Worker in Canada

Become a Permanent Resident by Caring for Children in Private Homes

What Are the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots?

The Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots offer two dedicated streams:

    1. Child Care Pilot – for home-based childcare workers
    2. Home Support Pilot – for caregivers of adults

These pilots aim to help you transition from a full-time caregiver role in Canada into a permanent residence.

Why Choose the Child Care Pilot?

    • Pathway to permanent residency through full-time work as a Home Child Care Provider (NOC 44100)
    • Includes your spouse and dependent children on your application

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify in the Workers-in-Canada stream, you must meet:

    1. Job Offer
      • Must be genuine and full-time (at least 30 hours/week), permanent, outside Quebec
      • The wage must meet or exceed the provincial/national median for NOC 44100
    2. Language Proficiency
      • Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 in English or equivalent French level (NCLC 4)
    3. Education
      • Must hold a Canadian high school diploma or equivalent (with a recognized assessment if studied abroad)
    4. Work Experience or Training
      • At least six continuous months of full-time experience in child care (or early childhood assistant) gained within 3 years.
      • Alternatively, a post‑secondary training credential (minimum 6 months, 15+ hrs/week) in child care, completed within the last 2 years.
    5. Status in Canada
      • Already residing in Canada with valid work authorization.
      • Alternatively, fall under the public policy for out‑of‑status workers who entered legally before December 16, 2021
